Benefits of disaster-recovery-as-a-service

Businesses need Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) because downtime isn’t just inconvenient—it’s expensive and potentially catastrophic.

Whether caused by cyberattacks, hardware failure, natural disasters, or human error, disruptions can paralyze operations, cause data loss, and damage customer trust. DRaaS ensures business continuity by allowing companies to quickly recover systems and data in the cloud, with minimal disruption. Instead of scrambling during a crisis, organizations can rely on a tested, automated failover plan that keeps critical services running.

DRaaS also removes the complexity and cost of building and maintaining a secondary disaster recovery site. It offers a scalable, subscription-based model that adapts to your business needs without requiring deep technical expertise in-house. With regular testing, real-time monitoring, and expert management, DRaaS gives businesses peace of mind, knowing they can meet compliance requirements, protect their reputation, and recover fast when it matters most.

Fast Recovery After Disruption

M247 DRaaS allows you to fail over to a standby environment in minutes, not days. Keeps critical operations running even during hardware failures, cyberattacks, or natural disasters.â

Minimized Downtime & Data Loss

With low RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective), you recover quickly and with minimal data loss.

Fully Managed by Experts

Complete support from M247 team, no internal DR expertise required. M247 handles setup, monitoring, testing, and failover.

Regular, Non-Disruptive Testing

Easily test your disaster recovery plan without downtime or risk. Prove to regulators and stakeholders that you’re DR-ready.

Business Continuity & Reputation Protection

Stay operational even in a crisis—protect customer trust and avoid regulatory penalties. Prevent productivity loss, SLA violations, or brand damage.

Seamless Failback

Once your primary systems are restored, DRaaS enables smooth failback with minimal disruption.

Features of M247's disaster-recovery-as-a-service

Full System Replication

Continuous or scheduled replication of entire systems (VMs, physical servers, cloud workloads) to an offsite or cloud location.

Low RPO and RTO

  • RPO (Recovery Point Objective): Minimal data loss, e.g., seconds or minutes.
  • RTO (Recovery Time Objective): Fast failover and system recovery to reduce downtime.

Automated Failover & Failback

One-click or policy-based failover to the DR environment. Seamless failback when the primary site is back online, with minimal manual effort.

Non-Disruptive Testing

Run disaster recovery tests regularly without affecting production - validate plans and compliance.

Application-Aware Recovery

DR that ensures consistency for apps like SQL, Exchange, Oracle, Active Directory - not just a flat file recovery.

Geographic Redundancy

DR environments located in different regions (Brasov for Romanian customers) to protect against regional disasters (floods, fires, outages, etc.).

Security & Compliance

  • Encrypted data transfers and storage
  • Role-based access
  • Support for standards like ISO, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Real-time dashboards

  • Runbooks that document and guide the DR process

Backup + DR Integration

Unified platform that offers both backup and DR to reduce complexity and ensure consistent protection.

How does it work?

Our disaster recovery testing automatically runs monthly to prove that your business data and servers are fully available if a disaster appears. We start up each virtual machine and then run a set of checks to ensure that the system is healthy and that it has the expected data available to it. All machines are checked and then shut back down again. A full copy of the DR report is sent to you which evidences the actual recovery time and the health of all the servers being protected.
